The SLV Yetis 12U team earned a hard fought road win over Colorado Springs 12U Black, taking a 2–1 result in a fast moving, high energy game that had momentum swings throughout.
The Yetis got on the board in the first period when Weston Dikes finished a play set up by Palmer Semore. The goal came during a stretch where the Yetis were generating chances and learning how to turn pressure into offense.
The middle period saw plenty of movement up and down the ice, with both teams trading rushes and battling for control. While no goals were scored, the Yetis continued to put pucks on net and work through traffic, an important step at this level.
Colorado Springs tied the game early in the third, forcing the Yetis to respond in a loud and unpredictable stretch of play. The Yetis stayed with it and were rewarded late in the period when Amos Pittman scored the game winner off a pass from Kasin Ruybal.
In net, Phoenix Gonzales made key saves when the game opened up, finishing with 14 stops on 15 shots. The Yetis ended the game with a strong edge in shots, a sign of effort, persistence, and willingness to attack.
This win reflected what 12U hockey is about: learning to compete through chaos, supporting teammates, and finding ways to respond when the game gets messy. The Yetis took another step forward by staying engaged and finishing the job together.
